The old patterned stair carpet was worn through and the hallway was bare. I fitted a new hard-wearing beige carpet on the stairs, and a patterned vinyl through the hallway and downstairs toilet so it's easy to wipe clean by the front door.

Bare floor with the old gripper still down. I took up and replaced the gripper, laid new underlay and fitted a soft grey-beige carpet wall to wall, with the door trimmed so it closes cleanly.

A big room with bay windows and old boards that needed cleaning up and preparing first. Once the floor was ready I fitted a dark green patterned carpet, lining the pattern up across the full length of the room so it runs straight from the window to the door.
