DOOR TRIMMING AFTER NEW FLOORING IN REDDITCH
New carpet with a thick underlay, or a new hard floor laid over the old one, often leaves the doors catching or refusing to close. It is one of the most common jobs I get asked about. I trim the bottom of each door on site so it swings freely over the new floor, with a small, even gap underneath.
I take each door off its hinges, measure the gap it needs over your new floor, cut it straight with a guided saw and seal the cut edge so it does not soak up moisture. Then I hang it back and check it opens and closes cleanly. Door trimming is £25 per door, and it is included in the price when I fit your floor.
Fire doors are handled properly. The gap under a fire door matters for it to work, so I only take off what is needed and keep within the gap the door is made for. If a door has an intumescent strip or a certificate label, I leave those alone. I am also happy to trim doors when someone else fitted the floor, just ring me and tell me how many doors are catching.

Yes. I only take off what is needed and keep within the gap the door is made for, so it still does its job. I leave the intumescent strips and labels alone. If a fire door would need more taken off than it allows, I will tell you rather than cut it.
